Dakota Blue Richards was born in England. She's best known for her role as Lyra Belaqua on 'The Golden Compass' Franky Fitzgerald from the third series of British teenager drama Skins. The actress has also been in the stage, starring in productions of plays like "Arcadia," and "A Streetcar Named Desire'. Richards is a Londoner by birth, was raised on the Sussex coast. She had a couple of drama classes in her school, but most of the acting lessons were offered on weekends. Additionally, she opted to skip classes to attend auditions. This was her first film as an actor. Richards her performance was highly praised by a large number of viewers, despite her lackluster reaction to the film. In the following year, she made her debut on television in the film Dustbin Baby.
